Founded in 1975, Gerbing helped pioneer heated gear for motorcyclists. We brought the brand into JustBrand in 2019 and have continued building on that legacy with patented Microwire® technology, 12V gear for the ride, and rechargeable 7V clothing for life beyond the bike.

The approach
A legacy worth carrying forward.
Gerbing has been a trusted name in heated motorcycle gear since 1975. When we acquired the brand in 2019, we saw an opportunity to honor that history while making its product lineup and buying experience clearer for today’s customers.
We organized the range around two systems: 12V gear powered by the motorcycle and rechargeable 7V gear for on and off the bike. We also rebuilt the dealer program and expanded distribution. Our 2025 partnership with Parts Unlimited brought Gerbing back to powersports dealers across the country.

Gerbing’s 12V system connects to the motorcycle, delivering adjustable heat for as long as the ride lasts. Riders can start with a heated jacket liner, then add gloves, pants, and footwear to build a setup that keeps them comfortable from head to toe.

From a machine-shop side project in 1975 to a brand carried by dealers across North America.
1975
The beginning
Gordon Gerbing builds one of the world's first electrically heated motorcycle garments, powered from the bike.
1980s
Early adoption
Heated riding gear catches on across the Pacific Northwest, then at rallies and trade shows nationwide.
1998
Harley-Davidson
Harley-Davidson selects Gerbing as the exclusive manufacturer of its heated clothing line.
2001–2010
The portable era
Battery-powered heat arrives, first NiMH then lithium-ion, alongside the authorized dealer program.
2011–2015
Scaling up
Global production is built out, with Bluetooth® controllers and heat-feedback sensors.
2019
A new chapter
JustBrand acquires Gerbing and unifies the portable heated collection under one name.
